You may not be aware of this, but without proper maintenance, your beautiful shower doors could become caked in soap scum and hard water build-up, even if you clean it regularly! Because the shower is in constant use, it tends to get dirty rather quickly. If you’re frustrated with the state of your shower doors or are interested in maintaining your beautiful new shower doors, these cleaning hacks could change your life.

Store-Bought Cleaner

You may be using store-bought glass cleaner on your shower, and while that’s fine, you should be wary of the ingredients. If your glass cleaner contains ammonia it could be stripping the finish that was applied by the manufacturer of shower doors in Minneapolis. It could also be corroding the finish on the metal surrounding your glass doors over time. Store-bought glass cleaner is okay to use, but if you’re interested in a cost effective and fast cleaning method, you should check out some of the hacks below.

Vinegar

Vinegar can clean just about anything, but it is especially good at cleaning glass. Soak a sponge in undiluted white vinegar and completely coat your shower doors. Leave it on the doors for about four minutes and then wipe it down with warm water. For a little extra cleaning boost, try warming the vinegar in the microwave first. Don’t be alarmed at the strong smell, it is completely harmless and will go away completely after a shower or two.

Baking Soda

Pour baking soda in a large plastic container and slowly add undiluted white vinegar until it becomes a paste. Be careful, it’s going to fizz up! Scoop the paste out of the container and apply to your shower doors. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes and then remove it with a squeegee and warm water.

Dawn

For this one you will need 1 cup of warm vinegar (warm it in the microwave for about two minutes), 1 cup of Dawn dishwashing liquid, and a spray bottle. Combine the Dawn and the vinegar in the spray bottle and spray it all over your shower doors, then scrub with a sponge. And that’s it! Super clean shower doors, super easy, and super quick!
